DGShow
provides you with a true Personal Video
Recorder (PVR). With DGShow you need never miss a favourite
programme again. Watch what you want when you want, not when the
broadcasters decide.
Update 12th Aug 2008 - As
this program has been mature for a number of years now I am now making the
registered version available to all. The registered version of Enquiry.exe
(without the Nag Screen and Warning messages) can be obtained as
follows:

Unzip the Enquiry.exe file and put it
into your DGShow program directory.

Intelligence is built in to ensure that any

ShowSet
(the ShowShifter Command Line
Utility)
ShowSet
provides a command line interface to ShowShifter that allows
VideoServer commands to be passed to do the following:

Set/Remove Recordings

Set/Remove Timed Channel Changes
-
Perform immediate Channel Changes
-
Export
the current video schedule from ShowShifter
-
Automatically shut down
ShowShifter
For example, a
recording can be set with a command as simple as:

ShowTVPI
ShowTVPI is a small utility
program that sets a recording in ShowShifter based on information
passed to it in a simple text-based .TVPI file. (Please note that
this program does not work with encrypted .TVPI files such as those
generated by TitanTV).

DGUK
DGUK, which is available from below, is a cool little
utility to download UK data from
http://www.bleb.org/tv
developed by DeBugger, a very productive ShowShifter
developer and user. Additionally DGUK integrates with Alan
Birtles Radio Times grabber.
Getting it up and running is very easy; download the setup
file, install it, read the documentation, and run it to see
if it works. If all is well then we can enter the correct
settings in ShowGuide. This example assumes that DGUK was
installed in 'C:\Program Files\DGUK\'. Go into ShowGuide,
select the spanner at the top, and then select 'Set
collection times'. Make sure 'External' is ticked and fill
in the two fields as follows:

- New data location

C:\Program Files\dguk
Now click the tick button to save the
changes on this page, and select 'Collect show information
now'. DGUK should pop up and download new data. Once it is
finished ShowGuide takes over and imports the data which
shouldn't take long. Then after all this is finished you
should be able to go back to the ShowGuide view selection
page and select your favourite view to access the fresh
data. Now proceed to setting up the download to happen
automatically at some convenient time
and interval.
